Sunday 7 March 2010 v Maivern Away
We travelled over to Malvern on Sunday 7 March with a squad of 11;Harry F, Tom H, Olly, James, Kyle, Jake, Ewan Freddie, Harrison, Nathan and Ethan. The first match saw us score 5 tries from Ewan, Kyle, Olly, Harrison and Freddie, Malvern came back with two tries in the second half, and we scored another two from Ewan and Freddie, taking the final score to 2.7 win to us. The subs in this match were Ethan and Harry F in the first half, and James and Tom H in the second half. The second match was 1.2 to Hereford at half time with one try from Malvern and ours from Harry F and Olly. Subs in this half were Freddie and Kyle. Malvern scored again in the second half, and we had 2 more from Olly and one from Freddie, resulting in a final score of 2.5 to Hereford. Second half subs were Nathan and Jake. We hosted Lucs at home on Sunday 28 February. We had a large squad of 13 players, so were able to play a match with 4 subs. The first match team consisted of Ethan, Ewan, James, Kyle, Tom H, Harry D, Freddie, Nathan and Jake, with Harrison, Marley, Ben and Harry F as subs. Lucs took an early lead with two tries in the first half. We swapped the subs, with Jake, James, Ewan & Freddie, then Lucs scored another try in the second half, taking the final score to 0.3 to Lucs. The second match started with Tom, Nathan, Kyle and Harry F as subs, and the first half was a nil,nil draw. For the second half we had Ethan, Jake, Nathan and James as subs, and Freddie scored the only try for us , taking the final score to 1.0 win for us. Thank you to the Lucs coaches for refereeing the matches. Sunday 14 February 2010 v Bromyard at home We hosted Bromyard RFC on Valentines Day. Our squad consisted of Tom H, Marley, Olly, James, Ben, Kyle, Nathan We, Ethan, and we had a new player, Mack. First Match- Bromyard took the lead at half time with a score of 0.1, they then scored again in the second half, and Mack scored for us making the final score 1.2 to Bromyard. Second Match- First half of nil, nil draw, then Mack scored again for us in the second half taking us to a 1.0 win. Thanks to the U10s coach, Shawn Hobbs for refereeing the matches for us. On a cold and crisp Sunday morning we played host to Worcester. We had 10 players: Harry F, Tom H, Olly, James, Kyle, Jake, Edward, Ewan, Freddie and Nathan We. The first match score was 1.2 to Worcester. James was captain, with Olly and Jake props, Harry F hooker and Freddie scrum half. Edward was sub. Our try was scored by Freddie. The second match result was 1.3 to Worc. Our try was scored by Nathan. Freddie was captain, James and Olly props, Tom H hooker, with Ed scrum half in the first half, then changed to Freddie in the second half. Jake was sub.
Next Week- We have training for an hour on Sunday 20 December, then the Christmas party at 11.30 until 12.30, in the clubhouse, with a chance to meet Santa! Hope you all have a very merry Christmas and we wish you a Happy New Year! See you back for training on Sunday 10 January 2010. On very soggy pitches we played 2 matches against Camp Hill. The field was covered in puddles and the players boots sunk in the mud! First Match result 6.7 to Hereford. We only had 9 players so we borrowed 2 U10 players. Our squad consisted of Harriet, Tom H, Marley, Olly, James, Kyle, Jake, Edward and Ethan. We borrowed Joe B and Jack P from U10s.Our tries were scored by Kyle (3) Olly, and Joe(3). Second Match result 1.5 to Hereford We borrowed Harrison and Jack E from U10s for this one. Our tries were scored by Harriet (3) Olly and Tom H. Sunday 22 November 2009 v Luctonians (at Lucs)
Our local derby match against Lucs was on a very windy, wet morning. The rain was torrential as we arrived at Lucs between10:00 and 10:30am and then it eased off so the teams went out to start warm up. We had 11 players: Kyle, Tom H, Tom W, Nathan We, Olly, Ed, Jake, Ben, Freddie and Ethan. Lucs had 36 players! The first match started off and then the rain came down. The boys were absolutely soaked through but it was a fantastic match with really great rugby played by our small band of players. Half time score was 2.3 to Hereford, with tries scored by Nathan We, Freddie and Ed. The final score was 3.5 win to Hfd with further tries scored by Olly and another from Nathan We. By this time all players were wet through, cold and tired. We lost 2 players who left to get warm, so we just had the minimum of 9 left, with no subs to rely on. The second match half time score was 5.0 to Lucs, with the final score being 7.0 win to Lucs. Lucs team were able to continually play fresh players as subs, who had been able to keep warm and dry, whilst watching their team mates. Hereford U9s players should be very proud of themselves. They all played fantastically well and we had great support from all U9s parents, even in the driving rain! Well done to both teams and thanks to the Lucs coach for refereeing the matches, and Milly and Owain for coaching. Training next Sunday 29 November, hope we don’t have flooded pitches again! Sun 15 Nov 2009 v Ledbury (at Ledbury)
Following notification that Wyeside was going to be flooded, we were able to go over to Ledbury RFC and play our matches over there. We had 4 players from Under 10s join up with our squad, as the main body of their squad were at a festival in Kidderminster. We were able to play two matches, the first one being played by Harriet, Freddie, James, Nathan Wa, Ed, Jake, Marley, Jack (U10) Jake M(U10), with Ben and Tom H coming on as subs. The half time score for this first match was 0.1 to Ledbury, and then in the final minute of the second half, we drew 1.1 with a try scored by James. The second match was played by Olly, Harry D, Kyle, Ben, Harry F, and Harrison (U10) Jack (U10) Luke (U10) and another U10 player who’s name I didn’t get-sorry! The half time score was nil, nil, and resulted in a final score of a 1.1 draw, with our try scored by Kyle. Thank you to the Ledbury U9s coach for refereeing the matches, and of course to Ledbury RFC for being able to accommodate us all at such short notice. BROMYARD v HEREFORD Sunday 11 October 2009
We were welcomed to Bromyard RFC on Sunday 11 Oct and this was our first away match of the season. We had a squad of 11 players, who all took turns in playing in the two matches. The full squad consisted of Tom H, Kyle, Harriet, Olly, Harry F, Harry D, Freddie, Ewan, Nathan We, Ethan and Edward. We saw some good tackling and even a ruck and maul, so it was an excellent visit, with fantastic play from all players of both teams. In the first match Hereford led at half time 4 nil, and the final score was 7 nil, with tries from Kyle (2) Nathan We, Harriet, Ewan, Freddie and Olly. The second match final result was 3 nil, with tries from Harriet, Freddie and Ewan. Thanks to Jim Shields and Milly for coaching, and the Bromyard coach for refereeing.. Next match is Sunday 25 Oct, home to Kidderminster, then away to Moseley on Sunday 1 November. Don’t forget the Halloween party for all children, at Wyeside club house on Friday 30 October. Our first match of the season playing contact! On a lovely fine Sunday we welcomed Stourbridge to Wyeside. We had a great squad of 16 players, including 3 playing their first ever match. They all swapped over so everyone got to play during the morning. Our full squad consisted of Harriet, Callum, Harry D, Harry F, Tom H, Olly, Ben, Kyle, Edward, Ewan, Freddie, Nathan Wa, Nathan We, Tom W, Rhys and Ethan. The first match was a win to Stourbridge with 4 tries to 2, scored by Freddie and Olly. Stourbridge led 4.0 at half time, so we came back well. The second match was a draw; at 1 try each, with our try coming from Ewan. We saw some good tackling and passing and the players’ confidence grew as the matches progressed. Thank you to the Stourbridge coach for refereeing the matches. Also, thanks to parents for their support, and Owain, Shaun and Milly for coaching. Match Report v Malvern Sunday 26 April 2009 Mixed Under 7 & Under 8s team Malvern only had 9 players mixed U7/8s so we played two matches, 8-a-side, swapping our mixed teams over at half time. First Match: The first half of the first match was played by James, Nathan We, Edward, Joe B, Frankie, Freddie, Jake and Joe J. The half time score was 2.5 with tries from Nathan We (3) Edward and James. The second half was played by Kyle, Tom W, Danny, Ewan, Keiron, Ethan, Harry W and Tom H. The final score was 5.8 with our remaining 3 tries scored by Ewan, and Keiron(2). Second Match: The first half was played by Nathan Wa, Olly, Joe J, Keiron, Kyle, Danny, Harry D and Joe B, half time score was 0.6 with tries from Nathan Wa(3) Olly(2) and Joe J. The second half was played by Harry W, Danny, Tom H, James, Freddie, Ethan, Edward and Kyle. The final score was 3.13 with our remaining 7 tries scored by Freddie, Kyle(3) James and Danny(2). Well done to all players, and thanks to parents and supporters. Also thanks to Milly, Ross and John. Next week 03 May, Moseley Festival for those players that have been confirmed. 10 May Presentation Day – 2pm until 5pm. We had sunshine, rain and wind on Sunday so all players, parents and coaches did well to keep warm and dry!
Under 7s With 9 x Under 7s players, the squad was Adam, Ben, Harry W, Keiron P, Keiron T, Jake, Frankie, Joseph J, Joseph B and we borrowed 2 players from Monmouth and played them all to try and keep warm! The score in the first match was 1.5 with a try from a borrowed Monmouth player. The second match was 3.4 with a try from Joseph J, and 2 from borrowed Monmouth players. Well done to all players, especially Keiron P and Harry W playing their debut for the Under 7s team. Thanks to Milly and Doug-coaches, and to the Monmouth players who played for Hereford. Under 8s With 14 players we were able to play 2 matches against Monmouth. The first squad of Harriett, Harry D, Edward, James, Danny, Nathan We and Nathan Wa lost 3.5 with tries scored by Harry D, Nathan Wa and Harriett. The second squad of Freddie, Kyle, Ethan, Tom H, Callum, Tyler and Will, just lost with a score of 5.6 with tries in the first half from Kyle and Tyler, then in the second half from Ethan and Freddie (2). Well done to all players and thanks to Shaun –coach and John –ref. Next week, 15 March, we are training at home and our teams are doing the raffle. Please bring along a small raffle prize (biscuits, chocs, easter egg, or wine etc.), to raise funds for the club, and I will also be asking for volunteers to sell tickets and organise the draw after training, in the clubhouse. We are still looking for volunteers to coach the Under 6/7/8s teams next season and also for a Manager to deal with the paperwork. Please see either me, John, Shaun or Milly if you are interested, or want more information. Medals and certificates will be awarded for Ledbury and Monmouth games too. Our Under 7s squad were made up of Joseph J, Joseph B, Adam, Ben, Frankie, Keiron and Jake. We played two matches in total, with John as Ref. The first match score was 5.8 with tries scored by Ben, Joseph B (2) Joseph J (2) and Keiron (3). We also won the second match 3.5 with tries from Frankie, Keiron, Joseph J and Joseph B (2). Well done to all players and thanks to Milly & Doug (Coaches) and John (Ref). Under 8s We had two squads of Under 8s this week, and they each played a match. The first squad was Harriett, Tom W, Nathan Wa, Danny, Ethan, Will and Tom H. We lost this match 8.7 with tries scored by Harriett (5) Nathan Wa and Tom W. The second squad was James, Callum, Ewan, Kyle, Freddie, Nathan We and Edward. We were leading at half time with a score of 4.5 with tries scored by Freddie(2), Nathan We, James and Kyle, but then Ledbury came back to draw 7.7 with two more tries from Ewan and Kyle. Well done to all players and thanks to Shaun (Coach). We are at home this week, 8 March, playing against Monmouth, who have agreed to come over, as Silhillians have cancelled. Training 15 March. We played two matches away at Bromyard on Sunday. The pitches were very muddy so the going was quite tough! The first match, with tries scored by Harry H, Joseph B (2), Ben, Joseph J (2) and Connor, resulted in 6.7 to Hereford. Hereford led at half time 2.3 and Bromyard did well in the second half to try and equalise. The second game was fairly well matched at 2 all at half time with tries from Connor and Adam. Bromyard then scored 3 tries against our 2, from Joseph J and Connor, so the final score was 5.4. Well done to all players: Joseph B, Joseph J, Adam, Ben, Harry H, Connor, Keiron and also Morgan and George. Under 8s Again we played two matches, with teams made up from Ewan, Tom W, Tom H, James, Kyle, Callum, Freddie, Edward, Nathan We, Nathan Wa, Harry D, Olly, Will and Ethan. Hereford led at half time with a score of 4.5, tries coming from Ewan, Tom W (2) Freddie and James. Bromyard then made a great recovery, coming back to a final winning score of 8.7, with Hfd tries from Nathan Wa and Edward. The second game resulted in a win to Bromyard, half time score 2 all, with tries from Tom W and Freddie.Bromyard then came back to win 5.3, with Hfd’s final try scored by Edward. Under 7s
The team was made up of Joseph B, Connor, Frankie, Ben, Harry, Kieron and Jake. The first match resulted in a 6 all draw, with tries scored by Connor, Frankie,Ben, Harry and Kieron (2). The second match was 6.2 to Lucs, with tries scored by Connor and Joseph B. Well done to all players on a very muddy pitch. Under 8s We had enough players for two teams of under 8s, plus we borrowed Honor from Lucs. The one team, coached by Doug played two matches. The team was made up of Ethan, Olly, Harry D, Edward, Will, Tom H and Honor on loan from Lucs. The first one resulted in a 7.4 win to Lucs with tries scored by Will, Edward, Honor and Harry. The second match was a 2.2 draw with tries scored by Edward and Honor. Well done to all players, again on a very muddy pitch, and thank you to Honor for being an honorary Hereford player. Hat Trick for Tom W The second team, coached by Shaun, also played two matches. This team was made up of Callum, Kyle, James, Nathan We, Nathan Wa, Tom W and Ewan. The first one was an 7.6 win for Hereford with tries scored by James, Kyle, Callum (2) and a hat trick from Tom Watkins (3 in a row) in the first half. The second match was also a win, with a score of 11.8 to Hereford, with some fantastic tries from Tom W (2) Ewan (3) Kyle (3) and James (3). A big well done to you all – you really took notice of what the coaches told you and played together as a team.  We have training at Trinity School, Moor Farm next Sunday, to give our pitches at Hereford a rest. Hope to see you all there at 10.30am. The playground will be opened for parking, so please do not park outside residents houses/flats. Player of the Match medals will be awarded at training on Sunday, for the last two matches. Sunday 18 January 2009 at Old Halesonians, Hagley
On a very windy, ice cold day we travelled all the way to Hagley, near Stourbridge to play Old Halesonians. The teams from Bridgenorth were there also so we all played each other. The Under 7s team of Ben, Connor, Joseph B, Joe J and Kieran were joined by Edward from Under 8s to make up their team. The first match was against Old Halesonians, final score 5.4 with tries scored by Connor, Joseph B, Kieran, Edward and Joe J. They played Bridgenorth next, final score 3.4 with tries from Kieran, and 2 from Joseph B. Under 8s The team was made up from James, Kyle, Callum, Ewan, Nathan We., Tom H, Tom W, Nathan Wa, Ethan and Will, playing seven a side matches and swapping players over at half time. They played Bridgenorth in their first match, equally matched with a final score, a draw at 6.6, with tries from Nathan Wa, Kyle (4) and Nathan We. The match against Old Halesonians was 8.2 with tries from Nathan We (2) Nathan Wa (2) Kyle (3) and Ewan. There was some fantastic runs and side stepping from Kyle, and great tagging from Nathan Wa. Well done to both teams, thanks to parents for their support and to John the referee and Milly, Shaun and Doug for coaching. Under 7s
We played Bredon at Hereford on Sunday with our team of 8 Under 7s, swapping so they all had a chance to play in the 2 matches. Bredon won the first match 7.5 with Hereford tries from Joseph Bonelle(2), Ben, Jake and Joseph Jones. The second match was a draw, score 7.7, with tries scored by Kieron(2),Jake(2),Joseph B, Frankie and Joseph J. Under 8s We had 11 Under 8s players this week and played 3 matches. The first match saw the score of 3.1 at half time, and 8.3 full time, with some great tries from Harriet(5), Nathan Westcott(2), Ewan. Bredon came back to win the second match 3.7, from 0.3 at half time, with Hereford tries scored by Ewan, Harriet and Nathan Wallace. The third match was closer, score 3.4 to Bredon with tries from Ewan, Tom Watkins and Kyle. We saw some terrific side stepping from Kyle and a fantastic run from Nathan Wallace to score his try. Well done to both teams. Thanks to all parents for their support, coaches Milly, John, Shaun and Doug, with help this week from Nick(Under 9s coach), and Jim for taking the photos. Unfortunately Malvern didn’t turn up for our home game on a beautiful sunny morning at Hereford RFC, so we trained and played a training match between mixed under 7/8s teams. We have lots of new players and they are really coming along well, so we should have some good matches to come during the season.
We did the raffle this week, thanks to all parents who donated prizes. We raised £57 for the club. U8s v Bromyard - Sunday, 9 March 2008
9/3/08 HRFC U`8s played host to Bromyard RFC. On a lovely sunny morning Hereford got off to the worst possible start this season by making to many mistakes going 15 points down without a reply. But after some good footwork and passing Hereford pulled 5 points back , but Bromyard scored straight from the restart and Hereford`s heads dropped and even with the half time talk they just couldn`t turn it around ,even with 2 tries scored from Hereford in the second half Hereford were beaten 15 - 45.Try`s scored for Hereford by Reuben (2) Eiran(1) .
Match two with the slate wiped clean Hereford looked lively and with what was a very good performance proceeded to take the game to Bromyard forcing some good turnovers of the ball ,mixed with some outstanding individual run`s and good support play. Hereford came out with a dominant win 45 - 30 .With tries scored for Hereford by Jack English ( 2 ) ,Jake (2) ,Jack Prosser (1) , Eiran (2) , Freddie (1) and Charlie (1) . Well done to all of you . On a very bright but blustery Mothering Sunday morning we made the long trip to West Hagley to be entertained by Old Halesonians. Old Hales were a little short on numbers so it was a mixture of mainly under 8`s with support from the under 7 squad .
The first match set off at a very fast pace with Hereford turning over the ball from the the start and Owen running in a score from Hereford`s 10 yard line . Hereford dominated the first half with scores from Harriet from the U`7s squad scoring and Jake and Oliver completing the scoring for Hereford. Old Hales came back in the second half with three scores but Hereford were just to strong with some good flowing rugby with tries scored by Owen(1) Jake (2) Harriett (1) and Oliver (1). Old Hales 15 Hereford 40 The second game went very much the same way as the first with some excellent passing and support play , Reuben excelled with 4 touch downs 3 from within the depths of Herefordshalf he was supported with touch downs from Cameron H (1) Harriet (2) Owen (2) and Jake (1) . U`8 s welcomed Bromsgrove to Wyeside . On a cold foggy morning match one started with both sides playing good rugby making a few mistakes and at the break were level. The second half was the same with both sides making the best they could with the very muddy conditions. Showing good foot work and pace with the match ending level 25 - 25 . 3 / 2 / 08 Saw Hereford U8`s entertain Malvern for there first home game of the year. It was a cold blustery start with the U`8 splaying on the only bit of grass left at wyeside .We were hoping hoping for an entertaining match and were not disappointed. Showing some good defence and passing with more depth and width Hereford just edged out Malvern in match one with a 25 - 20 win . Tries for Hereford by Reuben 1 \ Jake 1 \ Eiran 1 and Owen 2.
Match two saw Hereford fall behind a little and Malvern improve but still some good rugby was played by both sides and the match ending in a 20 - 20 draw .Tries scored for Hereford by Owen 2 and Eiran 2. Match three saw an even performance until half time but the second half saw Hereford gain the lead playing excellentl rugby coming out on top with a 30 - 15 victory . 27\1\08 Saw Hereford U`8 s travel to Kidderminster for ther first fixture of 2008 . On awarm sunny morning Hereford got off to a good start playing some excellent rugby narrowly winning the first match 40 - 45 .Tries for Hereford by Owen 4 / Ellie 1 / Matt 1 / Reuben 1 / Eiran 1 / Cameron Terry 1 .
Match two saw an even performance by both sides and more good rugby with the score being level at full time 35 - 35 . Tries for Hereford by Owen 2 / Charlie 1 /Cameron Terry 2 and Reuben 2 . We travelled to Bredon in Worcestershire just outside Tewksbury. After a rain soaked drive we arrived to blue sky and sunshine. After a short warm up we got on with the matches. The first match saw the weather turn for the worsed .Hereford seemed to match the weather with missed tags and poor handling letting us down . The second half saw Hereford improve a little but not enough to save the game losing 35 -20.
Match two saw Hereford really pile on the pressure with some outstanding team work , which saw us take a good lead into half time . The second half saw Bredon come back with both teams putting in a good display of skill with Hereford coming out on top with a 25 - 40 victory . With onlyone sub this week this week this was an outstanding performance well done guys keep it up . 24 /11/07 Hereford RFC U`7 `s and 8`s travelled to Malvern RFC . After a freezing cold and wet training session at Wyeside last week it was nice to be out in the dry with a small amount of sunshine when we reached Malvern.
Due to Malvern training the U`7 and 8`s together we competed with mixed ages this week playing a total of four matches. This at first seemed to confuse the players a little but they soon started to gel , playing some good tag rugby and with Tries coming from a more varied range of players. On a cold windy morning HRFC u`8 travelled to Ledbury . After the teams observed two minutes silence out of respect for Rememberance Sunday , the weather started to improve and we made an fantastic start . In match one Hereford put in a dominant display winning 10-25 .With Try`s for Hereford by Owen Matthews x 4 and Reuben Beamond x1 .
Match two saw Ledbury starting to even things out a little , with Hereford just coming out on top with a narrow victory 10- 15 . With Try`s scored for Hereford by Cameron Terry x 3 . Match three saw Hereford put in a very impressive performance with good player support winning 15 - 35 . HRFC U`8`s welcomed Kidderminster RFC to wyeside . After mixed luck on the road the last three weeks Hereford wanted to make a good go of it at home.
Match one saw Hereford defending poorly and being hit with a couple of early try`s . Hereford came back with first half try`s from Jack Prosser x 2 and Ellie Prosser but at half time were 15-25 down. The second half saw Hereford raise there game scoring a further four try`s by Owen Matthews x 2 Eiran Davids and Matthew Hughes eventually losing the match 35-40 . Match two saw Hereford step up the level to match the visitors all the way in an high tempo match Kidderminster ran in six try`s but with try`s coming from Matthew Hughes x 2 Owen Matthews x 2 Jake Ashford and Alex Rosser Hereford came out with a well deserved 30-30 draw . HRFC U8`s traveled to Bromyard RFC for their third away match . In match one Hereford just couldn`t keep the the ball dispite an excellent performance from Bromyard which saw us losing 30 - 0
Match two saw Hereford really raise their game and were more than equal to Bromyard . Hereford were passing and supporting very well with good tem spirit , and after a hard fought match in torrential rain making holding the ball difficult we came out on top with a 20 - 15 victory .Shawn and Simon would like to say a big well done to all of you . HRFC U`8 travelled to luctonians rfc for the big local derby . Game one saw Hereford putting in a good performance but narrowly missing out on a draw and conceding a try late on to lose 25 - 15 .Game two Hereford failed to improve on the 1st game performance and were beaten 15 -5 .

HRFC U`8 entertained Stourbridge Rfc . Both teams played some excellent tag rugby with Hereford coming out on top with a 20 - 10 victory . We would like to thank Stourbridge for making the journey to us . And a big thank you to all the parents for helping and donating with the raffle . |
