Hereford v Stourbridge - Sunday 4th October 2009

The under 8s played their first match last weekend against Stourbridge. It was brilliant to have so many players at Wyeside again on Sunday, and for many it was their first experience of playing under match conditions.

The team played well, but couldn't quite get the win. We scored some great tries and there are real signs of having a fantastic U8s squad this season.

It's off to Bromyard next weekend and I'm confident that we'll improve with every week that we play.

U7/8s v Old Halesonians - Wednesday, 5 March 2008
On a very bright but blustery Mothering Sunday morning we made the long trip to West Hagley to be entertained by Old Halesonians.  Old Hales were a little short on numbers so it was a mixture of mainly under 8`s with support from the under 7 squad .
The first match set off at a very fast pace with Hereford turning over the ball from the the start and Owen running in a score from Hereford`s 10 yard line . Hereford dominated the first half with scores from Harriet from the U`7s squad scoring and Jake and Oliver completing the scoring for Hereford.  Old Hales came back in the second half with three scores but Hereford were just to strong with some good flowing rugby with tries scored by Owen(1) Jake (2) Harriett (1) and Oliver (1).
Old Hales 15   Hereford 40

The second game went very much the same way as the first with some excellent passing and support play , Reuben excelled with 4 touch downs 3 from within the depths of Herefordshalf  he was supported with touch downs from Cameron H (1) Harriet (2) Owen (2) and Jake (1) . All the team played to a very high standard and only allowed the opposition to score 3 touch downs.  Well done to all of you .

U7s v Old Halesonians - Sunday, 2 March 2008
02/03/08  HRFC U`7s   travelled to Old Halesonians at West Hagley.Old Halesonians were a bit short on numbers so it was a mixture of mainly U`7s with support from the U`8s squad . On a sunny but windy Mothering Sunday , Hereford got off to a slow start  (which was understandable after a week off last week ) missing tags and offside causing a problem but eventually we got going with some good individual performances with Tries scored from James (2) , Kyle (1) and Thomas (1) finishing 20- 20 at the final whistle.
Match Two saw Hereford start to improve a little but still being evenly matched by Old Hals but with Two outstanding try`s by Eiran and one by Nathan Westcott saw a 15 - 15 draw at full time.
Match three saw Hereford caught napping in the first half and behind at the break. The second half we came out with a determined attitude and some outstanding , saw us get back into the match and with some outstanding footwork from Eiran and Kyle scoring 5 tries between them we finished 25 - 25 at full time.
So well done to all of you for a great team effort .
U7s v Bromsgrove - Sunday, 10 February 2008

It was a foggy start to the day but luckily it brightened up by match time.  Both sides had just enough players due to half term holidays, so the squad new it would be tough and tiring.  Hereford started off struggling but began to get more motivated during the match. The results being 40 – 15 to Bromsgrove. The try scorers were Harriet 2 and Nathan Wallace 1.
In match 2 the squad fought back and played some very good rugby with good team work and passing. It was a more evenly matched game with the results being 30 – 30.  The try scorers were Harriet 4/ Callum 1 and Emma 1.
As there was still time remaining a third match was played.  The squad were starting to get a bit fatigued but all wanted to play another game. Well done everyone. A good performance by all.
See you all next week for training.

On a very wet and blustery day Hereford  u`7 s travelled to Bredon in Worcestershire , with reduced numbers for Hereford it was agreed that it would be a six-a-side game.
In the first match Bredon took the lead with a well ran in Try . Hereford responded straight away from the restart with a good run by Harriet Aldous-Fountain only for it to be disallowed. U7s & U8s at Malvern - Sunday, 25 November 2007
24 /11/07  Hereford RFC  U`7 `s and 8`s travelled to Malvern RFC . After a freezing cold and wet training session at Wyeside last week it was  nice to be out in the dry with a small amount of sunshine when we reached Malvern.
Due to Malvern  training the U`7 and 8`s together we competed with mixed ages this week playing a total of four matches. This at first seemed to confuse the players a little but they soon started to gel , playing some good tag rugby and with Tries coming from a more varied range of players. Which shows the squads as a whole have made some significant steps in the last few weeks .So I would like to say well done to both squads and to keep putting in the effort so we can keep in improving .

Match one saw a 50-50 draw with tries from  Kyle Macauley x1 ,Cameron Terry x2 , Matthew Hughes x5  Ellie Prosser x1 and Reuben Beamond x1 .

Match two saw a 25-45 victory for Hereford with tries scored by Alex Rosser x1 , Cameron Hogg x1 ,Cameron Terry x2  Ewan Proctor x1 and Kyle Macauley .

Match three saw a 15-40 victory for Hereford with tries scored by Oliver Cooper x2 , Ewan Proctor x2  ,Cameron Hogg x1 , Harriett Aldous/Fountain x1 ,Jake Ashford x1 and Alex Rosser x1 .

Match four saw a 20-35 victory for Hereford with tries scored by Charlie Denyar x1 , Matthew Hughes x3 , Bradley Cane x1 and Harriett Aldous/Fountain x2  .

You all deserve a big pat on the back .
