• Our philosophy at Hereford Rugby Football Club is to enjoy the game of rugby and to encourage players of all standards. We aim to provide a safe environment for all and everyone has a part to play in this; Committee Members, coaches, helpers, players, parents and guardians.

• All players MUST wear gum shields.

• Boots must have the correct studs of which your coach can advise.

• It is recommended that all players must wear shin pads.

• We strongly encourage all parents who coach on a regular basis to gain RFU coaching qualifications.

The majority of squads have at least one qualified coach, who will have covered the following elements:
• Coaching and developing players.
• Injury prevention and basic first aid.
• Child protection.

• All coaches and committee members have undergone a Criminal Records Bureau check

• All parents who help out with squads regularly have a Criminal Records Bureau check.

• If you are not staying to watch, you must make sure that the squad coach, manager or another parent who is staying, has an emergency contact number.

• Rugby is a contact sport and while we take every care to minimise the risk of injury, injuries do occur.Ê The club has the RFU Compulsory Insurance cover but parents/guardians may wish to take out their own individual insurance cover.
