2009-10 Work Programme and Performance Targets
CRC Priorities from the Development Plan

  1. Encourage more people to play Rugby
  2. Provide coaching & playing opportunities with progression routes for gifted and talented players
  3. Ensure that coaches are able to identify players / teams strengths & weakness & deliver coaching programmes accordingly
  4. Have more high quality, qualified coaches
  5. All members of the community are actively encouraged and welcomed to play rugby and become members

CRC Actions from the Development Plan

  1. Provide a wide variety of opportunities for potential players to start and continue playing rugby (including Tag, corporate Tag, summer camps,  girls and women’s, special needs teams and for those with disabilities)
  2. Support school of rugby and elite player development routes
  3. Provide new and current coaches with regular and local CPD events and regularly assess all coaches and provide feedback.
  4. Support the development and retention of players aged 16-19 and in other specific age groups identified by the mini and junior section
  5. Deliver rugby development opportunities in all 5 Hereford High Schools, 3 Colleges and a rolling programme for primary schools
  6. Be part of the new whole club coaching team structure

Recruit more U7 – U11 players into the club.

- Deliver TAG sessions to Primary Schools within the Hereford City area.
- Contact schools in September to arrange a programme of activity.
- Liaise with Police and young leaders to ensure coverage and avoid duplication of work.

Deliver to 10 primary schools in 6 week blocks. Deliver 60 TAG rugby sessions x 15 pupils = 800 pupils leading to TAG festival and Hereford Youth Games. Flyers and promotional literature to all participants to boost M&J player base.

- Support Primary School cluster TAG rugby events.
- Promote club and upcoming events with flyers.
- Publicise club TAG festival.

Support 2 SCCO cluster events. 2 x 5 teams x 10 players per squad = 100 pupils.
Flyers and promotional literature to all participants to boost M&J player base.
- 2 events attended.

April 2010 –June 2010

 

- Organise the Hereford RFC TAG 2 Twickenham Festival.
- Invites to go out by February 2010.
- Junior section and Summer Camp to be advertised at festival.

25 teams to attended 2009/10 (250 players)
- 4 new schools to attend Hereford RFC TAG
festival.
- Improved attendance at Summer Camp.

Deliver 40 sessions @ Cathedral Sch x 30 pupils = 1200 delivery   and 5 high schools x 2 sessions x 15 pupils = 1500 delivery covering –

Facilitate the identification and highlighting of gifted and talented payers as part of the programme of coach development.

Maintain an ongoing database of gifted and talented players. T o ensure the development of all gifted and talented players from HRFC and were applicable support their position within the county structure.
